Alley Cats Jazz Band

Monday 12 October 2015 We were treated to a very entertaining evening of music by Alley Cat’s Jazz Band with a scattering of Dave Allison’s seemingly made-up stories about fellow band members. Tunes included Duke Elllington’s beautiful Caravan, the uplifting The Coffee Song, the Harlem Globetrotters theme Sweet Georgia Brown and Keithy Brown sung a touching version of Nobody knows you when you’re down and out.

Clarinet/Sax – Dave Allison
Banjo – Geoffrey Perrin
Double Bass – Michael Godwin
Trombone – Lesley Dyos
Drums – Keithy Brown

Geoffrey showed us some old photos of his past bands, giving us the idea to do a ‘Spotlight’ on band members if they’d like to share some memories with us. Watch this space.

Join us next month on Monday 9 November for Brian Carrick’s Algiers Stompers
