Bob Dwyer’s Bix & Pieces

Monday 11 January 2016 Bob Dwyer and his band gave us a wonderfully cheerful night of music on an otherwise sad day with the news of the passing of David Bowie. Tunes included You Are Driving Me Crazy (Hugh on vocals), Mahogany Hall Stomp, Wild Cat Blues (with a bass sax feature by John) and Digging my Potatoes (with Max on vocals).

Trombone, vocals – Bob Dwyer
Trumpet, harmonica, vocals – Max Emmons
Clarinet, alto sax – Bernie Holden
Bass sax, double bass – John Bayne
Drums – Graham Collicott
Banjo, electric guitar – David Price
Piano, vocals – Hugh Crozier

Bob Dwyer’s Bix & Pieces play at The Spice of Life in Soho on Wednesday 13 Jan, their penultimate gig at this venue.

Come and join us next month at Griffin Park Jazz Club when West London Rhythm Kings are with us. Music will start at 8.30pm on Monday February. We hope to see you then.

*Regular John Habes is playing with his band Crawdaddy at The Barley Mow in Shepperton this Saturday and also at the Six Bells in Brentford on Friday 29 January.*
